The Situation
Nick Gray is the author of The 2-Hour Cocktail Party and a well-known figure in the networking and event space. He had a TikTok presence with around 6,000 followers, but his content was inconsistent. It was a mix of party tips, food reviews, book promotion, and random vlogs. There was no clear content thesis or repeatable format. Average views sat around 7,288 per video.
The Approach
I rebuilt Nick's content strategy around a single thesis: Nick is the king of party planning, and every video should reinforce that identity. We developed a pinned video strategy, created recurring formats tied to his book and party expertise, and built a content calendar that balanced personality-driven content with discoverable, format-driven posts.
Key formats included party formula explainers, "who to invite" advice, event BTS, and the "Met Museum Secrets" series that showcased Nick's natural curiosity in a way that still felt on-brand. We also optimized his bio, pinned videos, and call-to-action flow to drive traffic to his book.
