The Yearbook Rebranded

2 Yearbook 2 Furious

Welcome to the official May Edition of The Yearbook.

It’s been a minute since you’ve seen me here, but do not fret — we’re still rolling along.

I wanted to update you with two big changes coming to the Yearbook.

First: this will move from a “whenever I can” newsletter to more of a monthly recap that comes out the first Friday of every month.

Second: this will always be written by me. I won’t ever use AI to write these and will hopefully always be a genuine touchpoint on life, my YouTube channel, and lessons I’m learning along the way.

The biggest change, outside of the cadence, is the focus. Rather than only being stories and lessons from my life — which it still is — I will mainly be utilizing this as a newsletter to showcase behind the scenes of my YouTube channel.

If I haven’t made it clear before, let me go ahead and do so:

My goal is to grow my YouTube channel to become a source of full time income for me and my family.

I’ve been working towards this seriously for the past three years and I’m closer than I’ve ever been.

The only thing between being full time and where I am now is action. I’ve posted 7 good videos so far within the Disney entertainment niche and my guess is I have at least another 20–30 BANGER videos before I’m in a place to be full time. And with all those videos, there’s going to be a lot of planning, practice, and patience.

Frankly, I have a lot of problems in between my current state (36K subs, ~$100 in revenue per video) and my ideal state (100K subs, $100K in revenue) that I have to overcome:

  • I need to build up to posting at least 2x a month (or every 3 weeks)
  • I need an editor or editors who can take a lot of the editing off of my plate so I can spend more time ideating, planning, and filming
  • I need to initiate business opportunities that allow me to diversify income streams through sponsorships or products

In simple terms: I need to start treating this like a business.

I will most likely be writing an in-depth newsletter soon on a recent realization I had in regards to choosing what work to do, and the importance of focused effort — so be on the lookout for that one.

Because, like I said, I expect this to be a mixture of my original intention for The Yearbook (stories and lessons from life for my kids to read one day) with an intentional shift towards showcasing my road to taking this freaking serious. And maybe some of you have advice for me throughout this journey — I’d love to hear from you.

Anyway, you’ll learn more about this as I continue to send these out. So instead of writing your eyes out, I’ll just leave it at this:

Thank you for being a supporter of me. Dino Favara, Jr.

A lot of you signed up for my Funnybones Newsletter back in 2018–2019 and I am still so grateful for those who found joy with that project. I don’t take that lightly and hope to finally take this dream to the next step — and bring you along with me.

Thank you. See you soon.
